Lesson 93

Proverbs 10:29 says:

The way of the LORD is a refuge for the blameless, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.

When a child of God crawls up under His protective wings, they find a refuge. Being able to obtain that refuge means that one has to follow the way of the Lord. What is the way of the Lord? A Christ-like life.

Anyone who has accepted Christ, enjoys and find comfort in what He expects from us. Seeking purity feels good. Spending time in the Word is enjoyable. Yet, to those that have not accepted Him this peace can be unsettling.

Have you known a person who could not stand quiet or tolerate organization around them? They have to have noise. They have to be on the move all the time. They seem to invite and create chaos. What usually happens to these people? They usually find themselves in a world of trouble and just cannot understand way. It is because they reject peace.

So many times we reject peace. We do not want the comfort that is offered. Why? We are too caught up in things. We are taught that we cannot relax. We cannot slow down. We cannot be satisfied. We have to fight. We have to stir the waters. The only time any good came out of stirred up waters was when God did the stirring Himself to ensure the right mixture.

Are you satisfied with God’s peace? Are you actively seeking His way? Do you enjoy and delight in His commands. Do you choose Him over the “excitement” of the world? Where do you stand? Do you daily choose His way or find yourself in ruin?
