When you can’t stress something enough, you keep going back to it. You try to drill it into them. You want to keep reminding them of it. Because it is IMPORTANT. Solomon is doing this here also.
My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man’s whole body. (Proverbs 4:20-22 NIV)
If you have allowed your mind to drift over these last few visits to Proverbs, this is drawing you back. Listen to these words. They are important. He cannot stress them enough. And anyone who has gone through the book of Proverbs will tell you that these words can be used in every circumstance of your life. That are vital to your Christian walk and so often ignored by all.
Stop right now and decide if you really want to continue with this study. Are you ready to submit to God? Are you ready to accept these words and keep them close to your heart? You need to be before we go on.
