When you mention wisdom, most people will automatically think of knowledge and education. To some degree that is true. But wisdom needs to be explored deeper than just attending classes and reading books.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13 (NIV)
How many of you answer “Me” with this question? NOT! A wise man would exhibit humility not to answer this question in such a manner. He shouldn’t have to answer this question. The way his lives his live day in and day out would answer this question. Actions speak so much louder than words. Would your name be mentioned in a group of your peers?
But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. James 3:14-16 (NIV)
Do you have these feelings. Don’t brag about how angry you are, how jealous you are. Don’t say that you don’t have these feelings when God can see them in your heart. You cannot have the wisdom from God and have those feelings. Selfishness does not have a place in the heart of God.
Which wisdom do you have? Which wisdom do you want?
